Peter Hoenen (1880–?) was a Dutch Jesuit priest (indicated by S. I. – Societas Iesu, or S.J. in English), philosopher, and academic.
Before delving deeply into philosophy, Hoenen acquired a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Leiden in 1912. This gave him a strong foundation in the exact sciences.
He served as a Professor of Philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, a prominent institution for Catholic theological and philosophical studies.
Hoenen is recognized for blending an understanding of mathematics, physics, and rigorous formal logic with the scholastic philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas. He proposed an original phenomenological theory of judgment in his epistemology.
